The watch brand is pursuing its strategy of production integration in order to take full advantage of the synergies between its different businesses. With this in mind, it has just refurbished and extended the building it acquired in Saignelégier in 2009. This houses the finishing department, dedicated to manufacturing the dials and cases of its timepieces. The site has taken on a new dimension, expanding from 3,400 to 4,400sqm thanks to the addition of an extra floor.
The watchmaker continues to explore new creative territories, drawing inspiration from and engaging with the wider cultural world. Its latest 43mm limited edition Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon, designed in collaboration with Kaws, brings the subversive nature of the collection to the fore. The futuristic design of this 250-piece limited edition, fully crafted in titanium, is imbued with the aesthetic DNA of one of the most popular artists working today, who has placed a miniature “Companion” at the very heart of the watch.
Founded in 2020 by Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie and MB&F, Geneva Watch Days (GWD) is setting a date for devotees of fine watchmaking from 4 to 7 September 2025. Jean-Christophe Babin, President of the GWD and CEO of the brand Bulgari, made the announcement at the presentation of the proceeds from the charity auction organised with Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo on behalf of the Pierre Amstutz Fund that was set up to perpetuate watchmaking expertise.
On the eve of the new year, the 2025 edition of EPHJ to be held from 3 to 6 June is taking shape. It was presented to exhibitors by Alexandre Catton, director of the event, at the now traditional breakfasts held in various cities. The Bern edition welcomed Yves Bugmann, President of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, along with Ludovic Voillat, Secretary General of the Swiss Watch Industry Employers’ Association, to give an overview of the industry.
The Break Free collection highlighted the iconic creations of Keith Haring. It has now been enriched by four new models created by a new generation of artists. The brief was to draw inspiration from the 1984 world breakdancing championship held at the Roxy in New York. The result: four unique visions of this event, straight from the imagination of the selected artists (Grotesk, Bao Ho, Thandiwe Muriu and Hattie Stewart) and featured on a Swatch of their choice.
The Geneva School of Watchmaking, the oldest watchmaking and micromechanics educational institution in Switzerland, is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year. To mark this jubilee, it is inaugurating new, ultra-modern premises in Plan-les-Ouates and publishing a richly illustrated book detailing its history.
Nicknamed “the Everest of the seas”, the Vendée Globe is undoubtedly the ultimate test of human endurance. On 10 November, around 40 skippers set sail from Les Sables d’Olonne in the Vendée for the tenth edition of this solo, non-stop, non-assisted round-the-world yacht race. As partner and official timekeeper of this legendary 45,000-kilometre event contested every four years, Ulysse Nardin launched its new Diver Net Vendée Globe, issued in a 300-piece limited edition.
