Producer identification mark (SIP)

The producer identification mark (SIP) is a mandatory marking on Swiss watches and movements. It makes it possible to monitor compliance with the Swiss made ordinance and contributes to the fight against counterfeiting.

The SIP consists of a sequence of alphanumeric characters. Under certain conditions, it may be replaced by the manufacturer's trademark or company name.

Based on the Swiss ordinance on trademark protection and governed by implementing regulations, the allocation and registration of SIPs are entrusted to the FH.
