Last November, Universal Genève celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Polerouter watch, a timepiece created to mark the first commercial transpolar flight operated by Scandinavian Airlines System from Copenhagen to California in 1954. Founded in 2020 by Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie and MB&F, Geneva Watch Days (GWD) is setting a date for devotees of fine watchmaking from 4 to 7 September 2025. Jean-Christophe Babin, President of the GWD and CEO of the brand Bulgari, made the announcement at the presentation of the proceeds from the charity auction organised with Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo on behalf of the Pierre Amstutz Fund that was set up to perpetuate watchmaking expertise.
On the eve of the new year, the 2025 edition of EPHJ to be held from 3 to 6 June is taking shape. It was presented to exhibitors by Alexandre Catton, director of the event, at the now traditional breakfasts held in various cities. The Bern edition welcomed Yves Bugmann, President of the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry, along with Ludovic Voillat, Secretary General of the Swiss Watch Industry Employers’ Association, to give an overview of the industry.
