Since the launch of the Octo Finissimo collection in 2014, Bulgari has continued to push boundaries not only in terms of movement construction, case architecture and the art of skeletonisation, but also in its choice of materials ranging from gold to platinum, steel, ceramic and even tungsten carbide. Over the years, the brand has also invited artists to interpret the iconic octagonal case of its ultra-thin watch.
The Cartier Prize for Watchmaking Talents of Tomorrow announces the opening of the call for submissions for its 28th edition. Created in 1995 by the Cartier Watchmaking Institute, the Prize honours apprentice watchmakers in their third and fourth years of initial vocational training, as well as students on higher vocational watchmaking courses. They must work based on a desk-clock movement, an iconic horological creation in Cartier’s repertoire for over a century.
With Fil d’Or, a timepiece born from a collab with Sylvie Villa and Mark Miehlbradt, founders of Wire Art, Louis Erard continues to celebrate rare crafts while making them accessible. Fil d’Or joins the Noirmont Métiers d’Art collection, housed in a 39mm stainless steel case. Its design composed of anachronistic cubes recalls the 3D checkerboard pattern of the hand-guilloché model (2021) as well as miniature wood marquetry (2023).
Jaeger-LeCoultre showcases the latest artistic collaboration under its Made of Makers programme at The Dream Shaper exhibition in Shanghai. Commissioned from Chinese independent animation director Jackie Wang, the hypnotic artwork Drawn in Time pays homage to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s iconic Rendez-vous collection, embodying feminine elegance and craftsmanship through a mesmerising choreography of stars and precision mechanics.
Watches and Wonders Geneva 2026 will welcome 11 new brands, including Audemars Piguet, the oldest fine watchmaking Manufacture still in the hands of its founding families, and L’Epée 1839, the only Manufacture in Switzerland to specialise in the production of high-end clocks.
The watchmaking brand and USM Modular Furniture have come together to launch an exclusive watch collection that fuses horological mastery with architectural ingenuity. This collaboration pays tribute to the groundbreaking spirit of the 1960s – the decade that saw the creation of the USM Haller modular system (1965) and the debut of Zenith’s revolutionary El Primero chronograph (1969).
The watchmaker continues to draw inspiration from a variety of sources and unveils a unique creation from the Creative Art collection. This timepiece was designed in collaboration with master watchmaker Vincent Calabrese. Inspired by the mythical phoenix – an emblem of rebirth and eternal renewal – The Phoenix Eternis Ignis reflects the cyclical dance of time itself.
Breguet has unveiled the fifth chapter in its 250th anniversary celebrations, a brand-new 50-piece limited edition named Marine Hora Mundi 5555. The timepiece pays tribute to craftsmanship with a dial on two superimposed levels, one guilloché and the other sapphire. This special dial is inspired by NASA’s “Black Marble”, a nocturnal vision of the Earth.
